CA Issues TRO Against Sanchez Suspension

The Court of Appeals has issued a 60-day temporary restraining order against the suspension of Batangas Governor Armando Sanchez.

The TRO was issued by the Special Fourth Division of the Court chaired by Associate Justice Regalado Maambong.

"...to maintain the status quo and to preserve the rights of the applicant / petitioner Armando Sanchez, pending resolution of the instant resolution...the Court hereby issues a temporary restraining order effective for 60days unless sooner lifted," the Court said.

Sanchez was ordered suspended by the Ombudsman on September 26, 2006 in connection with the alleged irregularity in the release of funds for the Real Property Tax Computerization Project in Batangas.
